Introduction and course goals

The Master Programme in Education and Training, specializing in Educational Studies, has a double objective. On the one hand, it aims to develop research skills in the field of Social Sciences, furthering the knowledge and management of several techniques for identifying, gathering and systematizing information. On the other hand, it will provide a set of curricular units specifically designed to analyse the construction and consolidation of the education systems under the aegis of the Nation-State, as well as the international networks that interconnect educational phenomena and teaching in modernity.

Students are expected to:

  • Deepen and consolidate tools that facilitate the design and execution of research problems;
  • Learn about the main organisations and documents, both national and international, which interrelate scientific expertise and educational policies;
  • Characterise the different levels of comparison of education systems, of regulation of policy decision, of school organisations and respective actors;
  • Critically problematize the diversity of discourses that currently impact the educational arena.
