Introduction and course goals

This course aims to further knowledge and develop capacities in Mathematics Education (in all cycles of basic, secondary and higher education). It has the double purpose of promoting the improvement of trainees’ professional practice and of providing the development of skills to research and carry out intervention projects in Mathematics education. Thus, it analyses themes and problems concerning curricular development, Mathematics teachers’ learning and training, while taking into consideration the use of new technologies and other materials, as well as historical and social aspects of teaching this subject.

Target Groups

Candidates to enter this Master’s course in the field of Mathematics Education must be holders of a degree or equivalent, with a specific qualification to teach Mathematics in Basic, Secondary or Higher Education.
