Introduction and course goals

This Master’s course aims to develop and further knowledge and capacities in the field of Science Education (Biology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry and Science in Basic Education), with the double purpose of promoting the improvement of trainees’ professional practice and acquisition of competences regarding research in education and the accomplishment of projects. In this manner, it addresses themes and problems concerning Science teachers’ curricular development and learning and training, paying attention to the use of Information and Communication Technologies, to experimental work in science learning and to historical, epistemological, psychological and sociological foundations of Science teaching.

Target Groups

Holders of a degree or equivalent, with a specific qualification to teach Science in Basic, Secondary or Higher Education, may apply for the Master’s course in Education, in the field of Science Education.
