Yvette Solomon is Professor of Education at the Education and Social Research Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University. She researches primarily in the area of mathematics education, with a particular focus on learner identities and teacher professional development. Her current research projects in this area include work with colleagues at Loughborough and Coventry Universities investigating the experience of mathematics undergraduates and the impact of interventions in the use of space and internship roles, and research on pre-service mathematics teacher education with colleagues at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, where she holds the position of Professor II in Mathematics Didactics. She also researches in the area of STEM education more generally, and is involved in a European-funded project on engineering for primary school students.
