The VIII Young Researchers Forum do Instituto de Educação da Universidade de Lisboa of the Instituto de Educação of the Universidade de Lisboa aims to promote reflection and discussion about the ongoing PhD research projects, from all specialty areas. The event is organised into two sections – workshops and student presentations and discussion.
Research Workshops | 29 June (14h30 – 17h30)
• The participation in research workshops is aimed at masters, doctoral and postdoc students of the IE, including those in sandwich PhDs; and masters, doctoral in educational sciences from the FMH.
Student presentations | 29 June (11h15 -13h00) e 30 June (9h00 -10h45 / 11h15 -13h00)
• Student presentations are targeted at doctoral and postdoc students of the IE, including those in sandwich PhDs; and doctoral in educational sciences from the FMH, regardless of the year attended. Each doctoral student has 15 minutes to present their work.
Atention: All students who want to present their work should enrol and submit their abstract at the same time (in the same form).
Important: anyone who is interested to listen to and discuss the ongoing PhD projects can do so, online enrolment is needed.
Students wanting to present should submit and abstract and a digital poster:
• Abstract: The abstract should be submitted online through the enrolment form. The abstract should have a maximum 3500 carateres with spaces, and should include the aim(s) of the study, the key aspects of the theoretical framework, the research methodology, the preliminary results (if applicable) and a maximum of 4 keywords. The abstract should be submitted by 31 May 2017.

• Digital poster: The presentations are based on a digital poster, which should be a PowerPoint slide with no animations, only static information. We advise the following for an effective visualisation: a) use of standard sizes and shapes (pptx); b) readable characters [no smaller than 16 sans serif (e.g. Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Calibri)]; c) landscape; d) use of diagrammes. The digital poster should be sent to fji@ie.ulisboa.pt, by 12 June 2017.
The organisation of the presentations aims to promote the diversity of specialty areas in each parallel session with a view to (1) promote a diversified knowledge to all students in terms of approaches and traditions of research in education; and (2) the articulation of knowledge in an interdisciplinary perspective.

The workshops aim to allow young researchers from the IE and FMH a space for reflection about transversal methodological questions applicable to the ongoing research projects. The workshops will take place on the 29th of June.

Each workshop has a maximum of 20 participants , which will be allocated on a first come first sevrde basis. Each participant can only attend one workshop, but should select two, ordered by preference (the enrolment form includes a section for the enrolment in workshops). Workshops with less than 10 participants will not take place.
