Abstract

Underpinning the “New Approaches in Inspection: A Polycentric Model” project, whose consortium is made up of partners from Portugal, Turkey, the Netherlands, Ireland and Bulgaria, is the polycentric audit system, previously developed by Dutch, Bulgarian and North Irish partners. The project advocates active cooperation and communication among inspectors, academics, school principals, teachers and parents, and foresees the polycentric audit approach to be applied and developed as a good model. The results are expected to impact on each partner, involving, among others, the creation of a transferable and applicable system with a package of applications, process management, indicators to train inspectors and relevant stakeholders related to the polycentric audit approach. Among others, the elaboration of a research report on the use of this approach in different countries, as well as the production of a report that relates to polycentric auditing, school management and the Portuguese education audit system.
